Admin Assistant

Responsibilities:
– Follow the instruction of the lead instructor and management staff.
– Check in/out of all students.
– Track all staff hours.
– Delegate and assign duties to teaching and operational staff.
– Answer in-person/online inquires.  Telephone call back may also be necessary.
– Supervise ordering/delivery/setup/take down of all lunches/food related events.

Requirements:
– Fluent in English and Mandarin (Conversational and Written).
– 2 years of work experience in an administrative role.
– Work in a cooperative manner with colleagues and management.
– Work with children in a polite and professional manner.
– Operate a Windows base computer with fluency (MS-Office).
– Emergency First Aide Training / CPR Training (an asset).

Additional duties and requirements will be added as the camp/program moves forward.

Instructor(s)/Workshop Leader(s)/Workshop Assistant(s)

Responsibilities:
– Follow the instruction of the lead instructor and management staff.
– Supervision of all assigned and un-assigned children during instructional and non-instructional times.
– Provide educational instruction to the children under the direction of the lead instructor.
– Complete a short exit report at the end of each day.

Requirements:
– Fluent in English (conversational and written) and Mandarin – optional (conversational and written).
– Previous ‘paid’ work experience with children (an asset).
– Work in a cooperative manner with colleagues and management.
– Work with children in a polite and professional manner.
– Complete assigned tasks with little to minimal instruction.
– Emergency First Aide Training / CPR Training (an asset).

The Application Process

Steps
1 – Complete the online application form.
2  – A confirmation email will be sent to you to confirm your application.
3 – A first screening process will be done to select candidates for interview.
4 – Successful candidates from the interview will be invited to apply for their criminal background check
5 – Once successfully completed candidates will be invited to come in for training and contract signing.

A written resume/CV must be submitted before the interview process (required).

Consider the following questions before coming to the interview
1 – identify one person who can attest to your personal character and your positive work ethics.
2 – identify one person who can attest to your ability to work with children in a positive and professional manner.
3 – identify one person who can attest to your ability to work as a team player and when called upon be ready to be a team leader.

Bring in the names and contact info for the three reference persons from above.

Criminal Background Check required (working with children) – applicants are to pay for their Criminal Background Check first.  Successful candidates will have their back ground check fees reimburse (up to $50.00 maximum) at the end of the first paid period (receipts required).  Contact your local law enforcement agency for specific details.  Criminal Background Check must be completed before the start of the program.  Anyone not successful with this process will have their application terminated.

If you have completed a Criminal Background Check within the past year, please bring in written documentation to the interview.  A renewal ‘background check’ may be required.  Successful candidates passing all screening and ‘background check’ process along with a successful interview will be placed in a priority wait list.  All employment will be based on student enrollment.  (in other words – more students, more staff). 30 days before program start, all eligible staff will be notified.  Additional staff members will be notified as soon as enrollment spots are filled.

All employed staff must agree to the Arise Academy’s photo and video policy and submit a sign consent before employment begins.

The above rate table is meant to be used as a guide and is subject to change.  The posted rates will include all benefits and holiday pay as stated.  All staff will be hired on a ‘seasonal’ contractual basis per program duration.  All staff members will be encouraged to re-apply for additional programs.  Employment will be based on availability and student enrollment.
